Dark Colony in 1024×768? It’s possible!
We recently came across a really interesting project on GitHub that definitely deserves some attention from every Dark Colony fan.
The project, created by endotermic, takes our old favourite Dark Colony and gives it some new life by fixing and improving the game for modern computers. One of the coolest things is the ability to run the game in 1024×768 resolution! After all these years, seeing Dark Colony in a higher resolution is pretty awesome. :)
And that’s not all. The project also includes various fixes and improvements, including better support for running the game on modern versions of Windows, cursor fixes, playing without the original CD, Map Editor improvements and more.
What we like most is that this isn't some random project – it’s clearly made by someone who really knows and enjoys Dark Colony. It’s exactly the kind of fan-made project that can give an old game a second life.
If you have a few minutes, it’s definitely worth checking out and seeing what has already been done. The project is still being developed, so who knows what might be added in the future.
